newborn

Remember, you can be lost in stuckness, avoiding everything
adrift in mazes that go on forever
mourning the kid you were
disappointed and middle aged
a frump among the accomplished
“who took the wrong turn and ended up here?”
finding no solace in supposed freedom,
slamming the brakes in despairing compulsion
but then,
you stop hiding inside your own mind
and venture down to the body that knows
and feel that sadness screaming to be felt
“take me in please, stop locking the door”,
ok I’m crying, long and hard
and that baby, pushing to get out,
bathing in sorrow
wailing for years to finally be born
takes it’s breath and exhales relief,
remember, your baby needs air
don’t leave it inside in the dark.

towers

Standing alone as grace and might
nothing to prove and nothing to hide,
matter dissolves and becomes a new you
that sees all directions
up, down and through
no longer bound by the shell of your body
as always it was and always will be
as horse and flower, you’re only just God
as clear as day, you know the Way
but desire pulls you back to the matter at hand
while gentle amnesia embraces your Mind
and so you enter the battle again,
but this time
something else knows, that inside the swirl,
you’re only just God,
fighting yourself and creating your world
watching with wonder, “what beauty and power!”
you stand again and gather your children
scared and confused, they hear from the Tower
“you’re all the same, you’re only just God,
know it or not, it’s ok, but one day
you’ll wake up and see
yourself as Me”

blossoms

Through tiny stems you see a filtered world,
behind hints of trepidation,
a thin film of blandness,
warping your view of the Universe within,
behold your creation!
love the unknown truth,
you are imagination,
evaporating brilliance blossoms again,
bright and tall in the sun of you.

in spirit

Flashing star bolts from the ether
into my body it shoots and ripples,
the tip of a paint brush,
a vision in nature,
calls forth the future
renewing my word
strumming guitars I’ve never heard,
it ushers me down to the orchestra pit
alone in my room, it orders me “sit”,
allowing the sculptor,
a wave diving through
the dawning hue
of whirlpooling light,
unearthing the jewel,
and my vessel is back
in tune.

branches

Held on high and lifted up
the lightest touch, we whisper
propelled and shaken, awakened moons
and one step back, we falter
not right not wrong, not wax nor wane
we remain, where branches bloom.

skydiving

A vista of elation, engulfed in joy
expands below in the vastness, the possible
a oneness with space and freedom
or a chasm of annihilation,
do we leap to become everything
or will we become nothing?
But the plane keeps dancing
up and down
the engine is singing
there is no way around
trust is the jump through the portal,
where life and death
hold hands in the air
and stays afloat with it’s own being,
fusion and infinity
where love is the spiral,
the constant Hum
and in this sound, we hover
where the end is always near
and never.

take off

Reminded everywhere,
we see our reflections
we hear our voices
while blind and deaf to know what they mean,
the lilting flock, together and free
the music in the breeze
the confidence of the swaying tree,
dancing above and within the fog
we see with one eye, the darkness
the other keeps looking
one ear hears no,
the other, maybe
until one day, the lift, the shift of a gaze
a pierce of knowing
and the fire is lit
blasting beginnings from out of a heart
that races beyond the shore,
jumps into the depth of feeling it all
in it’s galloping hooves
the moments, the lifetimes, of grips and releases
and in one breath, a knot is untied
the body that’s held it’s true nature inside
beats a new heart
with no need to cower,
surrendered, open
untethered Horsepower.
